About JS Water

JS Waters was born and raised in Salinas, California. Surrounded by three generations of law enforcement. His Grandfather was a Monterey County Judge and Supervisor. His father a former motorcycle patrolman for the Salinas Police Department and founder of Achates Security Agency in 1958. His uncle is retired a Lieutenant from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department. First and second cousins served as prison guards at Pelican Bay, High Desert, and San Quentin State Prisons. He spent weekend nights on patrol as a young boy, either with the private security officers who worked for the family business or Salinas Police officers who were friends or relatives.

JS Waters is the author of three feature length screenplays, The Nephilim (optioned 1998 Lizard Tongue Austin), Keepers of the Dead and The Modern Primitives which is now adapted into his debut novel. He is the creator of Cyberworld: Dark Ages of the 21st Century, Afterholm, and Espionage live action roleplaying games produced by Dark Age Publishing.

JS Waters has been writing professionally for sixteen years. With a B.A. in Teledramatic Arts & Technology from CSU Monterey Bay, he has always combined his love of film with his writing. With three feature length screenplays and several shorts completed, he was worked both behind and in front of the camera.

He currently lives in the suburbs of Portland, Oregon, with his wife and three children, his Saint Bernard Thorgrim and his wife’s dog Luna. He heads home to Salinas at least twice a year to visit family and friends, stopping in to drink an iced mocha chai every chance he gets from The Cherry Bean Coffeehouse & Roastery.
